Top Ten Forms of Silver and Gold Sold

(For a year and a half at JH MINT)

Silver Stock Report

by Jason Hommel, August 21, 2012

The following are the top ten forms of gold and silver sold through the JH MINT.

Here's what customers like about each.

Number 10.  Silver 90% Half Dollars.  Those are 2% of Sales

They are cheap and close to the spot price.  Some people think it might be more useful for bartering with in the future.

Number 9.  Gold African Krugerrands - 1  ounce.  Those are 3% of Sales

Gold Krugerrands are durable, since they are 22 karat gold mixed with copper for hardness that helps the coins resist scratching.  They are cheap "international" coins.

Number 8.  Silver 90% Quarters.  Those are 3% of Sales

Number 7.  Gold Canadian Maple - 1 ounce.  Those are 4% of Sales

Gold Canadian Maples are pure 24 karat gold which is more yellow compared to 22 karat, which has an orange tint from the copper.  They are cheap "international" coins.

Number 6.  Gold Bars - 1 ounce.  Those are 7% of Sales

Gold bars are the cheapest form of gold that is still a full 1 troy oz. in weight.

Number 5.  Gold American Eagles - 1 ounce.  Those are 7% of Sales

Gold American Eagles are the most popular form of gold we sell.  People like them because they are beautiful, "made in the USA", and popular.  People want to own gold that will be recognizable when they go to sell it.  American Eagles are also 22 karat gold, mixed with copper, for added durability that helps the coins resist scratching.

Number 4.  Silver Bars - 100 ounce.  Those are 8% of Sales

Silver bars, 100 oz. in size, are are easily stackable and take up less space in a vault than coins.  They are also easier to count, and cheap.  These are popular with wealthier investors who buy many of them at once.

Number 3.  Silver Bars - 10 ounce.  Those are 13% of Sales

Silver bars, 10 oz. in size, are considered "cute" and "more useful" and more easily traded and thus, more barterable.  People often buy up to $10,000 of these bars.

Number 2.  Silver American Eagles - 1 ounce.  Those are 20% of Sales

Silver American Eagles are recognizable, beautiful, and "made in the USA".

Number 1.  Silver Generic Rounds - 1 ounce.  Those are 24% of Sales

Generic Rounds are the most popular product we sell because they are thought to be the most useful form of silver and gold bullion available.

They have usefulness first as a form of savings, since this is silver, which most buyers believe will outperform gold in terms of going up more in value in the future.

They are also cheap, with a low cost over the spot price.  They are also fungible and most divisible, since they are in the smallest form of silver available in bulk at a cheap price.

They are also easily countable, as they are made to the 1 troy ounce by weight, and thus, it's easy to calculate what you have.

Occasionally people shy away from rounds, as they think a dealer might not recognize them.  But of course we recognize our most popular product!  Generic 1 troy ounce silver rounds are also the most popular product that we buy from the general public.

Video: Vote for Silver

(And feedback on Emgold.)

Silver Stock Report

by Jason Hommel, June 9th, 2012

Watch the Lovely Lindsie Lou give a 2 minute presentation on the topic, "Vote for Silver".
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2Dp3gKuuv4

Here is the text in case you would rather read it:

Robert Hemphill, the former credit manager of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, said:

"Money is the most important subject intellectual persons can investigate and reflect upon. It is so important that our present civilization may collapse unless it is widely understood and its defects remedied very soon."

But defects are not in "money", it's in the currency! There are no defects in silver and gold. The defects lie within the notes issued by the Federal Reserve, those electronic banking entries that are an unjust weight and measure, backed by nothing but slips of dirty and smelly paper money.

Buying silver is a political action. It is a veto. It stops the Government from stealing from you through inflation from excess spending.

The political veto of buying silver is a thousand times stronger and more powerful than voting.

The reason is simple.

Buying silver is a vote of no confidence in the actions of government that prints paper money.

Less than one person (or dollar) in a thousand is buying silver per year. If even one one thousandth of the paper money in existence were buying silver, that would be 18 billion (out of 18 trillion) dollars. But annual investment demand for silver is only about three billion dollars per year. That indicates that only one out of five thousand dollars is buying silver per year.

So if even one person in a thousand bought silver, the silver price could be well over one hundred fifty dollars by next month, and yet silver prices sit at around twenty eight dollars per ounce today.

People complain that the government debauches the currency by giving handouts to immigrants. But they don't do anything about it by buying silver!

People complain that the government debauches the currency by giving handouts to the bankers. But they don't do anything about it by buying silver!

Given the election coming up, many people will ask me and others to endorse or vote for the lessor of two evils. Don't bother.

The real choice is not between about which politician to vote for.

The real choice has been here all along, and does not come along once every four years, but is available every day.

It's SILVER! The people today are simply not making use of their political power to buy silver!

Libertarians usually get one percent of the vote. If one percent of money in the banks bought silver, the price of silver would go up past five hundred dollars per ounce!

Vote for silver today by calling up and ordering silver from the JH MINT.

I received some feedback on my Emgold Gold Mine developer stock yesterday.

Emgold: Small Market Cap Gold Mine Developer
(A Gold Stock Write-Up)
http://silverstockreport.com/2012/emgold-aug7.html

I think many of the following comments go to show that it's the right time to get back into mining stocks, because of the strength of the negative emotions.

=====

Wow, back to mining stocks?

You will find no audience with me on that subject after your past track record.

Jason notes, I did earn over 300% in silver stocks in 2003, and I have invested in maybe about 7 stocks that have gone up about ten times in value.  True, I was blindsided by 2008's crash, but I had physical silver and gold for protection, as I had been recommending to people since 2000, 12 years now.

=====

Jason,

I thought you gave up on mining shares several years ago for good reasons.  What has changed that you now are pro mining shares?  Did I miss something?  I have a few shares but am waiting for my break even point before selling them.

Jason:  The price!  Look at the 5 year price chart for Emgold!  It peaked at over $2.50/share in 2008, down to 50 cents by 2009, and now at 10 cents.  It's the price!  To successfully invest, you buy when the price is ridiculously cheap, like now, when "everyone else" is down on the sector.

=====

You're pushing gold stocks again? Shame on you! Do you think that there are not people out here who remember how much money you lost people with the stocks you pumped before??? Then you swore off sticks and now you're trying to sell them again!!!

Jason: Yes, I lost a lot in 2008.  It's amazing what JP Morgan can get away with, by hammering the silver price after they acquired the silver short position from a failing brokerage house, Bear Stearns.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/commodities/9455724/US-probe-into-bank-manipulation-of-silver-markets-set-to-be-dropped.html

=====

Are you saying that the Emgold stocks are available right now at .09 Canadian?  Maybe I could by some RRSP (IRA (US)?  Thanks.

=====

Hello Jason- Thanks for the information.
I have never purchased stock.  How best to do that?

Jason:  most of my readers over the years have given the most positive feedback for www.tdameritrade.com a stock broker that I'm currently using myself.

=====

r u pumping this stock again?

Jesus loves you....John 3:16 God so loved the world.."

Jason notes, I have to love this comment.  As if promoting business, and bearing fruit, is a sin, and somehow is against the wishes of Jesus, who wrote things like:

Matthew 13:
44 "The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.
45 "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. 46 When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.

=====

I like that you're writing about stocks again.  It is called Silver STOCK Report.  :)

=====

Jason I really appreciate your disclaimer at the end of your email. Can you let me know how many shares you have purchasedt? The reason I ask is I would like to see how strongly you feel about this company. Also as Doug Casey mentions all the time the 7 P's (Phinancing, people, property etc). Anything additional you can share? Thanks for what you do and HOW (Christ like) you do it!

I replied:  I own 540,000 shares.

Very good and thank you for making me aware of this.

=====

After buying Baja after your write up I think I'll pass on this one !

Love your other emails though.

Emgold: Small Market Cap Gold Mine Developer

(A Gold Stock Write-Up)

Silver Stock Report

by Jason Hommel, August 7th, 2012, 6pm

Emgold: Small Market Cap Gold Mine Developer
The ticker symbols are:
US Pink Sheets symbols: EGMCF.PK, EGMCF
Canadian Vancouver exchange: EMR.V, V.EMR
http://www.emgold.com/s/Home.asp
http://www.idaho-maryland.com/s/Home.asp

Emgold July 2012 Corporate Pesentation:
http://www.emgold.com/i/pdf/CorporatePresentation_Jul2012.pdf

As of July 1, 2012
Shares Outstanding:  58,814,504
Fully Diluted including all options and warrants: 99,703,570
Share Price:  .09/share CDN

Market Cap: $5.3 million CDN  equivalent to $5.3 million US.

Emgold's last feasibility study projected their Idaho Maryland mine being economically profitable with gold prices at $420/oz.  At $1600/oz., this leaves $1200/oz. as pure profit.

They plan to be able to produce up to 200,000 oz./year, giving a profit of about $240 million/year.

For a $5.3 million market cap company, this is an incredible opportunity and value.  They need to raise around $125 to $175 million to start mining, and payback would be in less than a full year of mining, but it might take up to year five to reach full production.

The company might be able to earn over $1/share, and this is a company that might rise in value 100 times from today's share prices.  It may well rise to $1/share by financing, and up to $10/share at full mining production.

The reason this project is overlooked, I feel, is due to the fact that the gold market is just getting started, since less than $1 in $1000 in America is yet being spent on physical gold.  Only about $1.6 billion is spent on Gold American Eagles, which represent about a third of the gold sold through our gold and silver bullion shop at www.jhmint.com.  So, about $4-7 bilion is spent on gold in the USA, out of maybe $18,000 billion possible, which indicates that only about $1 in $3000 is being spent on gold annually.  Gold is an overlooked, and undervalued market, and gold stocks are an even more overlooked market.

As gold prices have climbed, gold stocks that have lagged the gold price must certainly slingshot upwards in value to catch up to their true value, and Emgold is one of those stocks.

Emgold also was overvalued in 2006, when mining stocks in general hit their prior peak, and since then, Emgold stock has come down significantly in price.

Emgold owns a lease on the Historic Idaho-Maryland Mine.

Historically, the Idaho-Maryland Mine was the second largest gold mine in California, and produced 2.4 million ounces of gold at a recovered grade of 0.43 ounces per ton from 1862 to 1956.

The Idaho-Maryland deposit has current measured plus indicated resources of 472,000 ounces of gold, and inferred resources of 1,002,000 ounces.

The Idaho-Maryland deposit represents a world class gold property. The potential resource target is 3 to 5 million ounces of gold, subject to mine dewatering and additional exploration.

Emgold is completing an Environmental Impact Report to reopen the Idaho-Maryland Mine to ultimately construct a 2,400 ton per day underground gold mine with potential to produce over 200,000 ounces of gold per year.

The mine consisted of 72 miles of tunnels with workings to a depth of 3,280 feet below surface.

Underground mines within a three mile radius of Idaho-Maryland Mine produced 13 million ounces of gold from 1850 to the mid-1950’s.

Project history:

Emgold originally acquired the Idaho-Maryland Mine in the 1993 and completed an Environmental Impact Report to dewater and explore the mine in 1996. The Company temporarily abandoned the Project in 1999 when the price of gold fell below $300 per ounce.

In 2002, with rising gold prices, Emgold re-acquired the property. By 2006, the Company completed exploration drilling, geological modeling, and other technical work, including an NI 43-101 Technical Report.

In 2005, Emgold commenced permitting activities to reopen the Mine, including dewatering, exploration, operation, and reclamation.

The City of Grass Valley was chosen to be the Lead Agency to permit the Project under the California Environmental Quality Act and Surface Mining and Reclamation Act.

I live in Grass Valley.  This is a real historic gold mine in a real historic high grade gold district.  The numbers are real.  The town has on display many of the high pressure hose nozzels that were used to strip mine the hills in the area with hydrolic high water pressure, of the type that was outlawed in the late 1800's.  The gold is so rich in this area, many people even today bring in placer gold on a nearly daily basis into our shop, and there are 5 other dealers in town buying placer gold found in local streams and rocks.

Required SEC disclaimer:
I own Emgold stock, and nobody has paid me to write about Emgold.  I'll earn money only if the stock price goes up.
